I just got a call to play drums behind international chart-topper Petula Clark! You may remember her #1 U.S. hit songs “Downtown” and “My Love,” or her roles in movies such as “Finian’s Rainbow” and “Goodbye, Mr. Chips.” With more than 70 million records sold worldwide, she is the most successful British female solo recording artist to date, and is cited as such in the Guinness Book of World Records. She also holds the distinction of having the longest span on the international pop charts of any artist — 51 years — from 1954 to 2005.

Ms. Clark will be making a one-night-only appearance at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort (Mt. Vernon, WA) on September 13th, with shows at 7 and 9:30 P.M. in the Pacific Showroom. Apparently, this is a rare musical appearance, as she is very gifted as an actress and theatre performer as well, and spends much of her time doing that. For me, it is a treat to play with someone with such a distinguished career; I can’t even imagine all the wonderful stories she could probably tell.
