Wow – this is an awesome moment for me! Being a lifelong Vic Firth player, I am completely in shock to see that my most recent YouTube video (“Platt Opus” by Rod Morgenstein) is currently being featured on Vic Firth’s homepage at www.vicfirth.com!

Here’s a screenshot of the homepage this morning (click for full size):

This all started when I posted my YouTube video (in which I’m playing along to, and promoting, Vic Firth’s Drumset Play-Along tracks in the Educational section of their site) and then sent Vic Firth a tweet with a link to it. (Figured it couldn’t hurt, right? Join their Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/Vic_Firth today!) And now, somehow, the next day, I’m on their home page.

Now, I don’t know about you, but this is the kind of stuff that I dreamed about as a kid (and still do!), so you’ll have to excuse me if I’m just a little bit giddy. While it may not be a big deal to anyone else, it’s an absolute thrill and honor to have even had this small piece of web real estate with my name on it, even if it’s only for a few hours. (*Edit: The video stayed there for a week!)

I’ve contacted the people at Vic Firth about getting my foot in the door with them – we’ll see if anything comes of it!  :)
